Doctor Jason Wilder and I are mighty pleased to report that EQMM has accepted a second Skyler Hobbs adventure. "Skyler Hobbs and the Garden Gnome Bandit" will appear in a future issue, TBA.
Meanwhile, I've discovered that the February 2010 issue, shown here, containing "Skyler Hobbs and the Rabbit Man," is no longer available in electronic format. Some months back, it was offered by Fictionwise (I know, because I bought a copy). Now, that site offers only the seven most recent issues. Same for eReader.com. The eBook Store from Sony carries only the current issue, or offers yearly subscription. Amazon offers only subscriptions.
That seven-issue limit, I deduce, is because the magazine purchases electronic rights for only nine months from the issue's on-sale date.
But this brings up some interesting questions. What happens when eBooks or eMagazines go out of print? Are used book dealers then entitled to sell them, like any other old book or magazine? If not, why?
