I went to a wedding this evening and wore my favorite "new" 50's green rose print wiggle dress with illusion neckline by Peggy Hunt. Peggy Hunt was a designer in Hollywood who was famous for her spectacular illusion necklines and form fitting styles. Granted that I don't know the couple very well (the groom is a client of my Fiance's) the wedding photographer seemed compelled to take quite a few pictures of me-- I hope the couple isn't annoyed when they look through the pictures and see a bunch of me. They'll be like "uh...who is that lady in the green dress and why are there so many pictures of her?"
I'm really not trying to toot my own horn but I think in a sea of cheap H&M dresses the 50's Peggy really stood out. A knockout vintage dress really demands attention! People kept coming up to me to compliment it, or to touch it...As we left some street kids walked past us and then turned around and yelled "WAIT! WE LoVE YoUR DRESS!!! LET us come and take a closer LOOK!!" I thanked them and my fiance proudly said "she owns a whole store of dresses like that :)!"
