Idris Elba Shares An Adorable Story About His Relationship With Beyoncé - BET

Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:27 PM PDT

Idris Elba has been considered a massively respected Hollywood actor and heartthrob for a while now. However, it wasn't until just a few years ago that the Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw star felt "super famous," and this was partly thanks to an interaction her shared with his former co-star Beyoncé.

During the latest episode of the popular First We Feast food blog YouTube series Hot Ones, Elba explained that he felt like he was officially a part of the "cool club" when he hosted the Met Gala in 2016 and was greeted by the "Formation" superstar and a few other respected names in fashion and music.

"I had Lady GaGa coming up to me, Rihanna, Beyoncé, coming up to me, shaking my hand," he said. "I felt super famous. And [Met Gala co-chair and Vogue Editor-in-Chief] Anna Wintour — bless her heart — she championed me as someone who should host it."

While the people whose approval he seemed to appreciate the most greeted him warmly, the actor added that there were tons of others who had no idea who he was.

"Half the people didn't even know who I was," he added. "They're like, 'Who? Oh, OK, he was on The Wire. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. My dad's seen that. It was great, apparently. Great.'"

Take a look at the clip, below:

Though Queen Bey's sweet gesture left a lasting impression on the star, this clearly wasn't their first interaction. In 2009, the two starred closely in the Fatal Attraction-inspired thriller Obsessed, playing husband and wife.

In fact, in a 2013 interview, Elba recalled their multiple kissing scenes in the movie and admitted it was a bit strange, as he has "a lot of respect" for Yoncé's hubby, Jay-Z.

"That was a bit weird," he said. "We did a lot of the kissing scenes on day one of filming... I guess it was an icebreaker."

Blue Ivy Carter: Beyoncé’s seven-year-old daughter makes debut on Billboard chart - The Independent

Posted: 01 Aug 2019 01:19 AM PDT

Blue Ivy has bested us again. Despite being just seven years old, Beyonce's daughter has scored her very first hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The pop queen of all of our futures collaborated with her mother on the track 'Brown Skin Girl', one of the standout songs on Beyoncé's The Lion King-inspired soundtrack album Spirit.

We'll tell you what's true. You can form your own view.

From 15p €0.18 $0.18 USD 0.27 a day, more exclusives, analysis and extras.

The track has proven to be one of its biggest hits, placing at 77 on the Hot 100. Blue Ivy, who is credited as one of the track's songwriters, can be heard at the beginning and end of the song. She was previously a featured artist on her father Jay-Z's track 'Glory', and her mother's track 'Blue'.

Unfortunately for the Knowles-Carter family, Blue Ivy can't claim to be the youngest ever artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. That record is still held by the French pop singer Jordy, who charted in 1993 aged five years old with his single 'It's Tough to Be a Baby'.

Jordy fell out of the public eye amid speculation about the motives behind his ascent to stardom and the failure of a children's theme park named Jordy's Farm. He did, however, manage to squeeze in a cameo in the John Travolta/Kirstie Alley threequel Look Who's Talking Now before he returned to normal life.

Beyonce's Coachella Diet Is Intense! Can Ordinary People Do This Too? - Latin Times

Posted: 31 Jul 2019 04:53 AM PDT

Anyone who has seen Beyonce's body back in her 2018 Coachella performance knows it was one heck of a body, and certainly, want to have it as well. This body after giving birth to twins? It must have been short of a miracle to achieve. But it wasn't. The star recently revealed her struggle to get back in shape.

Beyonce recently shared her health plan called 22 Days Nutrition to show how she shed the pregnancy weight, as well as prove that it could be done. But could it really be done? Can ordinary mortals stick to it successfully and achieve her body?  Some people aren't convince nor are they happy about it!

Beyonce shared her diet and exercise regimen for her 2018 Coachella performance through a YouTube video, spanning 150 seconds. At the start of the video, the singer showed that she weighed 175 pounds. "Long way to go," she said. Certainly, this is relatable for all who are starting their diets and feeling heavy.

The singer then proceeded to show her documented journey towards the fit and sexy body she showed to the public during the massive performance. The whole plan lasted 44 days. With serious Coachella goals to achieve, Beyonce certainly put in the hard work by following through the prescribed diet plan and training.

The Grammy Award winner adopted a plant-based diet plan, called the 22 Days Nutrition and formed by Marco Borges, her personal trainer. The trainer described it as a diet that eliminates all sorts of overly-processed foods, so it is packed with all types of vegetables and fruits. The video ended with Beyonce's saying "I'm coming back! She's coming back!" while showing clips of her Coachella performance -- notably in better shape with all goals achieved.

In the video, Beyonce imparted some mind-provoking statements. She claimed that there is a big difference between pursuing weight loss and wanting to have a healthier body that one can move and be comfortable in.

"Me getting the weight off was so much easier than getting back in shape and my body feeling comfortable," she says. This can make viewers think that wanting to lose weight for the sake of getting slimmer is not enough, and can even be so toxic and unhealthy. Wanting to be healthier is the way to go.

Still, is the 22 Days Nutrition even really doable? Can ordinary mortals just drop all processed foods without the aid of a horde of trainers and supporters? Does this promote a healthy mentality or does it do the opposite? Some fans think the latter.

One fan claimed that Queen Bey calling her weight, post-giving birth to twins, as a nightmare is sending out the wrong message. Promoting a very restrictive diet is also negatively perceived when fans expect her to promote "body positivity and beauty at any body size" instead.  Another fan claimed that the "22-day extreme diet" is a joke, considering Beyonce has a legion of "nutritionists, trainers, plastic surgeons" helping her lose weight, which ordinary people can never have.

Regardless of whether the video is sending out a positive or a negative message, one thing is clear: the path towards a weight loss needs a ton of hard work.

Beyonce 'copies' 2018 South African video concept for her new 'Spirit' music video - Face2Face Africa

Posted: 24 Jul 2019 07:19 AM PDT

American singer, songwriter and actress, Beyonce, and the makers of The Lion King have been accused of plagiarism. Beyonce was accused after shots of her recent Spirit music video appeared on social media over the weekend.

The video allegedly picks some of its visuals from La Maison Noir: The Gift and The Curse, an 18-minute visual album accompanying South African artist Petite Noir's eponymous 2018 EP.

Addressing the similarity of both videos on Twitter, photographer and filmmaker, Justice Mukheli, described the situation as "ridiculous".

More about this

Petite Noir's La Maison Noir currently has 1.9 million views on Youtube after its release in 2018 while Beyonce's Spirit has over 4 million views on Youtube after its release on Friday.

The video clip shows both artists and dancers in similar bright blue or orange clothing striking similar poses. There are scenes which feature Blue Ivy resembling those featuring a child in the African visual artwork while Beyonce is also spotted in a cowrie beaded face veil that resembles some outfits used in "La Maison Noir".

The "La Maison Noir" video was created to reference the four elements of fire, earth, water and air. It also depicts the formative stages of the musician's life which were spent moving around before settling in South Africa.

Management of both artists have not reacted to the allegation but the differences are clear and similarities striking. La Maison Noir was shot in the Namib desert and Spirit in the Grand Canyon, Arizona with both depicting an arid, mountainous, windy desert setting.

La Maison Noir was directed by Ilunga and Nembhard while Spirit was directed by British Jake Nava who also directed Beyonce's Crazy in Love, Flawless, Grown Woman and Partition music videos.

Here are some social media reactions to the alleged plagiarism:
