The palette obsession continues! I actually bought this at Target prior to acquiring the original palette from them. I wasn't terribly impressed by this initially, but that has changed a little, and I'll get to that in a moment.
Much like the preceding model to this (see full review here), it comes with a total of 15 eye shadow shades, 4 blushes, and 3 highlighters, which is a little different compared to the original in that the first version has a bronzer and 2 highlighters instead. 2 of the blush shades are quite sparkly, and the eye shadow colours quite similar, with 8 matte shades and 7 shimmery ones again.
As with the first palette, you slide the bottom layer out to gain access to the cheek products.
There is some fall out, but not enough to put me off this palette. The one down side of this set is that the blushes are just a little bit smaller than I would have appreciated.
If asked which one I would be more keen on, while I prefer the rose gold type hues that come in this particular set, I oddly enough find it the original palette more flexible for looks.
What didn't I like about this palette originally, you ask? When I first started using this, I was on a short trip with my other half in Melbourne, and I was using my travel brushes. I found it incredibly hard to pick up ANY powder at all on those brushes, and it felt like I was scraping it every time I wanted to put any colour on my skin.
Despite this disappointment, I ended up trying it again using my normal brushes, and this made an incredible amount of difference. However, again with the previous set, this also doesn't blend quite as superbly as I'd prefer it to.
Overall, not an absolute must have, but a nice one to keep in your collection, nevertheless.
Are you interested in this palette? Would you rather than the original one or this set?
